Cardboard, feathers and brushes: an artistic revolution by Eloisa Cartonera

Cardboard, feathers and brushes: an artistic revolution by Eloisa Cartonera

Currently, the crisis which has been immersed human (not only economic, also social, emotional, creative, sustainable ... and the list could go on ...) have to be consequences. For example, some people are alone, unemployed, or without the ability to have a bed to sleep or a roof to shelter from the weather. An alternative to resorting some who are living on the street, is to collect recyclable material so we can get some money.

In Buenos Aires, Argentina; carry a qualifier: "pickers". The pickers roam the city in search of recyclable material but above board. For every kilo of cardboard, give them about two dollars.

Now, in 2002, in the neighborhood of Boca, an incredible initiative arose related to the cardboard and letters: an editorial. Heloise Cartonera is the name of this editorial has achieved several problematic combat while no profit or enslavement.

For starters, the cardboard carton with your Publisher get paid triple that of a common center of collection. And the board is busy for reuse by way of front and back covers of books. Heloise Cartonera has its own printing press which seek to spread universal and local literature, literacy and even some Argentine writers have transferred the copyright for self promotion letters via this editorial.

Cardboard is cleaned and cut to accommodate the printout, then is painted and decorated by hand by people who have decided to work in this place. Many of them used to live on the street and the publisher has been a source of job where you not only earn money but have managed to restore some order in your life and have been able to learn everything involved in the process of editing and printing.

Furthermore, the results of this work are true works of art are unique pieces, which conjoined the brush and pen; readings carrying classic and emerging writers. It is an initiative that has revolutionized it are true entrepreneurs who show us another chance, another scenario where every printed book is unique and collaborative work in relation to art can combat many problems.

Heloise Cartonera  currently produces around 300 newspapers and books are sold to the most expensive in bookstores in Buenos Aires. In a previous publication, written by  Vivian,  grew clearer that this initiative was already thriving in most Latin American countries apart from Argentina: under the name  Sarita  in Peru, Yerba Mala and Mandrake  in Bolivia, Yiyi Jambo in Paraguay, Animita  in Chile , Dulcinea in Brazil and Cartonera  in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

We must take note of the work of this editorial, absolutely brilliant, where money is taken out of the equation and the value of everything else in sight, until the cardboard. Here culture, cooperative work, community, cultural diffusion, artistic creation, environmental care, education and social development is something to be recognized and promoted, by the magnitude of the surf accordingly. Heloise Cartonera is an example of that crises need not be fought with violence or debts, art has unexpected answers to the momentum and the evolution of human beings individually and in society. And if they did it with cardboard, brushes and feathers, how much can be done with all other existing objects? Not everything is written. To think, to create ...Source : lamanufacturera.com
