Salad Fingers: entre lo gracioso, lo bizarro y terrorífico.
Have you ever stroked gently with his fingertips a rusty object such as a spoon? You've never experienced the pleasures of her body rub with freshly picked nettles? These behaviors may seem strange, but it makes no sense in the desolate world Salad Fingers , curious green humanoid, thin, with a squeaky little voice, imaginary friends and sick mind, star of the series of the same name created by David Firth , filmmaker English and animator born in 1983.
The series consists of ten chapters with a duration of between one and ten minutes. It is made with flash animation, but using an austere style, which gives you some gloomy and depressing aesthetics. Each chapter has a chilling soundtrack, distressing meaningless decorations and patterns as well as a mysterious ingredient that prevents one to pause the player. Probably the curiosity, curiosity or taste so twisted, so it makes we move into the world devoid of sanity.
Surrealism, black humor and psychological terror are the three elements that come together in the series, leaving questions and lagoon mind after seeing what appears to be the product of a delusional artist, or schizoid maniac.
What is the meaning of this series, if any? Is it simply the result of a creative madness? In the first instance, seems to have no case to seek meaning Salad Fingers , and just get carried away by strange images. But looking a little deeper we find reflections on loneliness, sadness, masochism and perhaps a criticism of human self-destruction, it is recurring mention of a "great war", apparently devastated that fictional world.
Whether we like the bizarre, we want to spend time or desire to identify ourselves shivering interpreting each chapter of the series, ultimately it is a job that is worth appreciating for its impeccable production and unusual proposal.
